#LoveIrishResearch aims to connect members of the public with the amazing work being conducted by Irish-based researchers and highlight their achievements across multiple fields.

Ireland has a treasure trove of creative and innovative individuals who are conducting research, many of whom are based in our higher education institutions.

Their research is contributing to the understanding of our world and to national and global progress. So, in 2016 we spearheaded an initiative to better share the work of our researchers and to develop a greater public interest and knowledge of what is happening in research in Ireland.

Today, the Irish research community readily engages with the public, across a multitude of forums, with regular blog posts on the IRC #LoveIrishResearch page; multiple IRC awardees featuring in the RTE science documentary 10 Things to Know About…. and on the RTE Science forum Brainstorm; and a podcast series created by IRC Government of Ireland PhD graduate Megan Hanley called Unraveling Science.

The Irish Research Council  sponsors a number of  education and public engagement events throughout the year and encourages all curious minds, of all generations to get involved and feed their thirst for knowledge with genuinely entertaining and engaging events.
