Ulysses is a programme for research visits between Ireland and France, jointly funded and administered by IRCSET and Egide, the leading French agency for international mobility, with participation from the French Embassy in Ireland and Teagasc.
The Ulysses programme facilitates the exchange of innovative ideas and approaches between Ireland and France and the development of mutual research projects by supporting researchers based in Ireland to visit France and reciprocal visits by researchers based in France to Ireland. The programme also provides for the organisation of research workshops which bring together researchers based in France and Ireland for the purpose of establishing research networks.
IRCSET funds successful science, engineering and technology applications. Proposals concerning agri-food research and the rural environment are processed by IRCSET and funded by Teagasc.
Support of up to €2500 is provided for short visits to partner institutions over a one-year period, and covers travel and subsistence costs. Applications from researchers at an early stage of their academic career are particularly encouraged. Researchers who have been successful in previous calls are eligible to apply, but should note that proposals detailing new research projects (with new or current collaborators) will be looked upon favourably by the review panel.
