ERA-Chemistry is a consortium of 14 research funding organisations from 12 European countries, with the goal to develop and implement joint bottom-up European funding programmes. The network is funded by the European Commission under the ERA-NET Scheme for cooperation and coordination of research activities. The activities of ERA-Chemistry include funding calls, workshops, conferences and surveying the landscape of chemistry research funding in Europe. The funding calls are unique in that the funds to administer the calls are provided by the Commission, but the funding of granted awards is undertaken by the network partner in the applicant’s host country: therefore, IRCSET provides the funds for successful Irish applicants to ERA-Chemistry calls.
