The Enterprise Partnership Scheme is an innovative initiative where IRCSET links with private enterprise and eligible public bodies to award co-funded postgraduate scholarships and postdoctoral fellowships to the most promising researchers in Ireland.
There are two options to apply for Enterprise Partnership Scheme funding (postgraduate and postdoctoral) in 2010.
The option by which you apply is determined by whether you and your academic supervisor have had previous discussion with a specific enterprise partner.
Option 1:
Postgraduate and postdoctoral candidates, who have not had previous discussions with an enterprise partner but would like IRCSET to discuss aspects of their application with its current enterprise partners, with a view to co-funding, should apply through IRCSET's online application calls.
Postgraduate candidates can apply through the ‘Embark Initiative’ application process which will be open between 13 January 2010 – 10 February 2010. Postdoctoral candidates can apply through the Empower/Inspire application process which will open in autumn 2010.
Option 2:
Candidates who (with their academic supervisor/mentor) have had previous discussions with an enterprise partner and wish to apply for an award with a specific partner may do so at different four times throughout 2010.
Candidates intending to apply in this manner should read the guidelines (below) carefully before proceeding as strict criteria must be met before an application will be accepted.
